Task 1: Prepare your student journalists Please instruct your student journalists to document the GYSD event as well as they can. They should take pictures or record videos, interview participants, write down event data. After the implementation of your GYSD activity, you should create a video and post the link on the iEARN Teacher Forum. Our American mentors will vote for the best GYSD video. Use any online platform you want: Movie Maker, Movenote, UtellStory, PowToons, Voicethread, Slidestory. If possible, please get in touch with the local mass media (TV stations, local newspaper, radio station, etc) and invite them to the event. Our colleague Dorina has already shared a video about her project created by a local TV station in Drochia - watch it HERE. |
Task 2: Encourage your students to interact with project mentors Our project mentors have replied to almost all the posts submitted by your students, so please encourage your students to get back to the Youth Forum and read their comments, answer their questions and add details where necessary. They can also ask questions and interact with the mentors before and after the implementation of the GYSD event directly on the forum. This is the way for them to have a real interaction with our American experts :) |
Task 3: Let's collaborate with each other! Most of you have posted the GYSD plan on the Teacher Forum, so now it is time to start interacting. We are going to use the iEARN Rule of 3 - please go back to the forum, find 3 plans similar to what you will be organizing and write back to at least 3 other teachers - ask for advice, offer help, come up with suggestions, share ideas and resources - together with other teachers make your GYSD events more colorful and creative! For example, one group of students will be planting flowers/plants and place them on the school halls. I suggested to create messages in English and place them on/in the pots to personalize them, like in the images below - a wonderful way to make the school halls ”greener” and practice their English writing skills! |
